| Here is a Frequently Asked Questions section for everyone who has questions. We shouldn't really call it that, because we have NEVER been asked these questions yet. So here are some hypothetical answers to hypothetical questions that we feel you might have. Be sure to email us if a specific (and REAL) question you have is not answered here. Q. What basic features does this site give me? A. This site is designed to give students a place online where they can buy and sell their textbooks with each other. Q. Why did we do this? A. Because textbooks are expensive! And what's worse, it's hard to resell your textbooks. By cutting out the middle man (the bookstore) and uniting students, we give you a way to save money on your books, and sell them for a fair price too. Q. Why should I register? A. You have to register to sell your books on the site. You can buy books from other members without registering though, but why not register? It's free. Q. What does this site cost me? A. Nothing but your time. Q. Other sites? What are the other sites, and why is this site better? A. Check out the value page to get a clear picture of why COC Underground is the best option for selling your textbooks. Q. How can I be sure that my information is protected? A. Take a look at our Terms and Conditions as well as our Privacy Policy to see exactly how we protect your information. Q. What can I do if there is an issue with (insert problem here)? A. All issues (payment, member compliance, concerns, etc.) can be emailed to

, or you can visit the Contact Us page and submit your request there. Q. Is this an official school site? A. No. The College of the Canyons has absolutely no official involvement with this website. This website was created by myself, a student at COC, after being frustrated with the choices I had to sell back my books. Note: Actually, I ended up selling my books on eBay to try and get more money back for them. I got like 10% of what I paid, then eBay took their fees too. Sections of this site, however, are provided by the College of the Canyons, including the news articles. All news articles are used by permission from COC, and can be found at www.canyons.edu. Q. I've found a buyer for my book. What now? A. Now that you've found someone who is interested in buying your book, you must decide how you will get the book to the buyer and how you will get your money. You could go through PayPal and UPS if you like, but your buyer is most likely local, so there's no reason to pay for shipping. I recommend meeting at a neutral place that's easy for both people to get to. The school's cafeteria is a good place, since it's at the school, and there are a lot of people around. Here are a couple of other tips to stay safe: - Bring a friend along with you. Remember, you're meeting someone you've only met online.
- Be cautious in accepting checks. Textbooks can be very expensive, and if you trade your books to someone for a bad check, you may stand to lose a lot. Decide how you will be paid before going to meet.
- Likewise, buyers, Be cautious meeting someone when you have $200 in your pocket.
